this is great, thx to someone i got my 50euros wasted.
at first they explain you : --------------------------------------- Cancelling a subscription in Paypal Should you no longer wish to use our services then simply cancel any subscriptions you may have made in Paypal & just wait for the server to run out of credit and it will close automatically. Looking at the History tab in your paypal account view details of the payment that has been made to Streamsolutions ---------------------------------------- ok, this looks akamai like, you pay once, you get your bandwidth and you can use it forether, till you burn it all. then, i paid 50e via paypal (for 2x250 + 5 GB of bandwidth, i thought i could use if for at least a year or so !!!), once, but since it created monthly "subscription" (so if i don't cancel subscripion i would suck my money every month for nothing) i cancelled subscription. then the message came for each of my 250Gb practically unused : -------------------------------- You have just cancelled your subscription to a product from StreamSolutions. The details of your cancellation are below and should be kept for your records. Account No = WURJ6568 Item = WMS Quota Server (5.00Gbytes)-WURJ6568-16772-5-2.00 Item = WMS Quota Server 250.00Gbytes)-WURJ6568-16812-250-25.00 Item = WMS Quota Server (5.00Gbytes)-WURJ6568-16772-5-2.00 .... Subscription ID = S-42U89464YT3816808 Subscription ID = S-2B709611K5303163C You do not have to do anything else and if your services are not paid for, then they will automatically be turned off after any remaining value has been used. ---------------------- and then : ----------------------------------------------- Dear akl@diffvideo.com, The wms server you currently have from StreamSolutions.co.uk has been deactivated. If you do not make a payment the server will automatically be deleted. ------------------------------------------------ so, they don't "wait for the server to run out of credit", they just delete it "automatically" voila. you've been warned. |

I think there is some confusion here.
All quota servers are by MONTH, not purchase 250gig and use it until it runs out. This is very clear on the website, and purchasing there are two tabs, once is Buy Now and one is Subscription, which is a monthly subscription to the service. If NO payment is made per month, the server is de-activated, as it is a monthly service. I am not sure we could be any clearer as we do state it is a monthly service when paying. We are sorry you feel that something is not what you wanted and we do take customer opinions very seriously, however in this case I believe we have provided the service as advertised, which you have used. Credit is the cost of the service, not the bandwidth remaining, as all quotas are monthly ( as stated on the website ) Andrew. |

pardon my french, but you didn't make it all that clear, if you did, tell me exactly where, where'is the text which makes it so clear, esp. then opposed to 2 phrases:
1) then they will automatically be turned off after any remaining value has been used. 2) ..just wait for the server to run out of credit... well, obviously, the only VALUE here in your understanding is MONEY/credit, and hence some ppl could get "confused" believing what the value they bought was the BANDWIDTH if you call it "a streaming service"-taking money for mere one month of YOUR INTERNAL BILLING TRACKING ('cuz in exchange for my 50 euros i just got 3 mails tellin my bandwidth is calcelled), i should stop bying your bandwidth, and buy your shares, 'cuz its certain, soon your gonna be rich, i mean, a rich bastard (in my understanding ;-) Last edited by akl@diffvideo.com; 03-04-2009 at 01:49 AM. |

We do make it quite clear here
http://www.streamsolutions.co.uk/range/qserv That billing is by the month, and more specifically by 30 days ( the average of days in a month ). We do not want to hide the fact that all products are by the month. When purchashing it is quite clear that any subscription is by the month. It does appear that you feel hard done by that you have purchase a product as it has been de-activated after one months service. We do of course feel sorry that you feel aggrieved by the de-activation of your stream, however appears to be be within the terms of service. We can only conclude you are confusing 'credit' with 'quota' , which are completely different as Qservers are provided by the month as stated extensively in our product guides. Andrew. |

well, reading qserv descr. i see that you mostly mention "single bandwidth price",
"bandwidth in blocks", so i did believe that i bought "bandwidth" and not "billing service" and i could use all of that BW anyway, this story just pushed me to look around for something better for my needs, and i found it - LINK REMOVED for 20 euros/month i got REAL (i tested it with iperf and my housed servers) 80Mbps upstream NO LIMIT (interesting, ath the same time downstream was only 40Mbps ;-). installing helix11 + fms3.5 on fedora9 gives ~28Tb of BW + 250Gb of storage + all streaming formats. 28TB/month for 20euros compared to 500Gb for 50e (well, in my case, 1Mb for 50), that is 0.3% of your price. well, sure, then i bought your 250gb in amsterdam and 250 in the US it promised to be more reliable for "global" streaming, bad luck for me, your 1month "perishable" bandwidth has got rotten too quick... sure, u guys did convince me that it was all obvious for you as much as it was obvious for me that "then they will automatically be turned off after any remaining value has been used" meant "they will be turned off after any remaining *banwidth* has been used".
